The result of Integrated Science also revealed that only 23.63% obtained A1-C6 while 39.19% got D7-E8 and 37.17% had F9.

For English language, 50.29% of candidates obtained A1-C6 while 30.68% obtained D7-E8 and 19.02% had F9.

The Social Studies subjects showed that 51.84% obtained A1-C6, 25.20% got D7-E8 whilst 22.94% had F9.

Very Reverend Sam Nii Nmai Ollenu, Head of National Office of WAEC, disclosed this in Accra at a news briefing to release the provisional results for the May/June 2015 WASSCE.

He said a total of 268,812 candidates took the examination for 810 participating schools, which represented 11% higher than the 2014 candidature of 242,164.

He said the results of 119 schools have been withheld whilst investigations into alleged mass cheating in the objective test were identified with the aid of the new anti-malpractice software.

He explained that 453 candidates who sat for the May/June exams across the country had their entire results cancelled for examination malpractices.

The council noted that 1,859 candidates had their subject results cancelled while eight candidates had their entire results cancelled and have been barred from taking any of the council’s examinations for two years.

Very Rev Ollenu urged candidates to access their results online on the council’s website.

Very Rev Ollenu said the council has introduced interventions such as the item differentia profile, the biometric registration of candidates, the use of metal detectors and the use of G-Type answer booklets to address examination malpractices.

Indeed, this is the first time such an exam is being written at the School's Yamoransa Campus. NEW YEAR MESSAGE

There are few jobs more courageous than becoming a TEACHER. Not only are the hours long and the PAY not that GREAT, but teachers also have to come up with their own inspiring lesson plans, schedules, and homework. This is all before even entering the classroom, and as any veteran teacher will tell you, it’s best to expect the unexpected in that area. Teachers encounter bullying, disrespect, INSULTS, frustration, joy, love, and triumph during their career. It’s a job for which no college/UNIVERSITY class can fully prepare anyone. BUT THE JOY OF EVERY TEACHER IS TO SEE HIS/HER STUDENTS PASS EXAMS OR BECOME SUCCESSFUL. However, teachers can only UNLOCK the doors to academic success for their students, it behooves on students to walk through that door all by themselves...Teachers are responsible for what they teach, but the responsibility of success lies entirely on individual students. Formal education can make you a LIVING but SELF EDUCATION can make you a FORTUNE.

Indeed, every great dream begins with a dreamer and each of us has within us the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. But in all human affairs there are EFFORTS, and there are RESULTS, and only the STRENGTH of the EFFORT determines the greatness of the RESULTs. Matter of fact, it is only in the dictionary that SUCCESS comes before WORK! That means in real life, it is only by dint of HARDWORK and DETERMINATION which lead to success. The sky has never been the limit. We are our own limits. It’s then about breaking our personal limits and inhibitions and outgrowing ourselves to live our best lives. You are capable and worthy of being and doing anything. You just need the DISCIPLINE and DETERMINATION to see it through. It won't come instantly, and you may FAIL from time to time, but don't let that deter you. NEVER GIVE UP. Life is an ever-changing process, and nothing is FINAL. Therefore, each moment and every new day is a chance to begin anew. Your 'PAST' is not your PASS to FAIL. So don't allow what happened to you minutes ago, days ago, weeks ago, months ago or years ago be the reason for you not to strive toward success for your life. Stop looking for reasons to FAIL or finding EXCUSES for your LACKING and SLACKING.

As students, you need to understand that LEARNING is like driving up a hill, if u remove your foot off the accelerator, you'll drop back into a ditch!  A day spent without LEARNING something is a day wasted and the one who GRADUATES today and stops learning tomorrow is UNEDUCATED the day after! So STUDY while others are sleeping; WORK while others are loafing; PREPARE while others are playing; and DREAM while others are wishing. Wise people learn when they can; fools learn ONLY when they must. BE WISE and Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Your past is past, your present is present and your future is all in your hands! And always remember that the FEAR OF GOD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM! WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR! ***by SIR GILLY***

HIGH SCHOOL EPIPHANY

Walking through the halls of high school you come to terms with the fact that things change, some of your girlfriends become bitches, and your boyfriend becomes a prick. Homework goes in the trash; cell phones are being seized by teachers or used in class to disturb. Detention becomes suspension, soft drink becomes beer, and gum becomes "pot". Lollipops become cigarettes. Lip-gloss becomes makeup. French kisses become sex. Yeah!! Indeed, high school changes everybody.

Walking through the halls of high school is quite similar to walking through a battle field - you are never quite sure what you will find lying around the bend and everyone seems to be prettier, more ‘cool’ and popular and even smarter than you... they all seem to be having the time of their lives despite the educational setting... they all seem to have the most friends and the most people to say ‘hello’ to walking through the halls. Well, life isn't what it seems. Most of those people just surround themselves with others because they are too scared to be alone. They are so scared that they aren't really friends to their perceived best friend, and they just pretend because without those people they would be nothing. They hurt, worry, and become stressed out just like you do. They notice the imperfections in their own faces as well even though your eyes cannot see them. They notice how the girl/guy next to them is smarter and more beautiful... even though you don't. Maybe sometimes it's what you don't see that makes you more alike than you'll ever know.

Walking through the halls of high school, I realized that somewhere between the procrastination... and the homework... and the incessant activities... and the friendships... and the calls to each other complaining about 'crushes'... Somewhere between the phone calls to old friends... And the "I miss yous”, the "I love yous,” and the "What are we doing tonights?"...And somewhere between all of the changing and growing... Somewhere between the classes... And the skipping classes... And the studying for tests... And the pretending to study for tests... And the downright NOT studying for tests... I forgot... I forgot what high school is all about. I forgot what it meant to cry... I forgot that pretending to be happy doesn't make you happy... And that pretending to be smart doesn't make you smart... I forgot that you can't just forget the past in fear of the future... I forgot that you can't control falling in love... And that you can't make yourself fall in love... I learned that I can love... I learned that it's okay to mess up... And it's okay to ask for help... And it's okay to feel like 'crap'! I learned that it's okay to complain and whine to all your friends for a whole day... I learned that sometimes the things you want most you just can't have. I learned that the greatest thing about high school isn't the weekend entertainment programmes or parties or the drinking/smoking or the hook-ups... It's the friendships, which means taking chances that matters... I learned that sometimes the things we want to forget are the things which we most need to talk about... I learned that letters, phone calls and text messages from friends are the most important things... And that sending greeting cards to your friends make you feel better. But, most importantly, I learned that my TEACHERS and REAL friends... Both old and new... Are the most important people to me in the world. AND... without them, I wouldn't be who I am today. So this is a thank you to all of my friends... For always being there. And even if we're not on good terms or we have lost touch... I still care for you... Always and forever love all you guys

Walking through the halls of high school; try and imagine the people you see every day right now, the people you would least expect to not see tomorrow, in a year, college or university or polytechnic will come and with it new friends, and new experiences, the people you see every day in your high school halls-your friends, and some of them, your best friends, will disappear from your life, each going their own ways, you may see them once every ten years at some random reunion! There will come a time when many of them won’t even cross your mind or path, the truth is, you'll see your best friends maybe once a year, because time goes by so fast and everyone is so busy. Enjoy your high school days, enjoy today, and enjoy tomorrow, because these days come but once in our lives, be thankful for what you have and most of all, for who you have in your life because life’s plans for you may bring you away from these people, but no matter what anyone says, and no matter what time can do, your heart will always bring the best back, and your memories with them will forever hold a place in your heart!

IN LOVE WITH A BEST FRIEND

How do I tell you that I like you?
How can I say that you're the only thing on my mind?
We’re supposed to be just friends...
But for me there's so much more there...
I just don't know how to tell you.

We’ll never be together
Still you’re in my heart forever
I don’t know how…
I don’t know when…
I’ll get used to the fact
That you’re just my friend…
If I told you I love you…would you still be my friend?

If I have to be just your best friend
If that’s all that I can get
Then I'll take the job with honor
I'll be the best one yet
I'll offer you my shoulder
I'll show you how I care
I'll be there when you need me
I'm not going anywhere

If I have to be your best friend
The one who hears you cry
Then I'll take the job with honor
I'll take the job with pride
My love for you is stronger
Than you will ever know

TEEN SEX

SEX is not just a physical act to relive sexual tension. Having sex can cause very strong EMOTIONS. Sometimes a teenager (or even some adults) may only realize this after having sex… Teens who accept the media’s portrayal of sex as fun, glamorous, and a rite of passage to adulthood are often surprised when their own sexual experiences do not live up to their expectations. The Hollywood or Bollywood or Nollywood version of sex shows people meeting, having sex, falling in love, and living happily ever after. Rarely does the media show any of the negative consequences of sexual activity like pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, disillusionment, or broken hearts, etc.
Maturity and life experiences can prepare some teens for some of the consequences of sexual activity and lessen the effect of others, yet many a teen is usually unprepared for the feelings of regret or emptiness after sex! Ama Atta, who was eighteen years old when she first had sex with Kwesi Mensah her boyfriend, explains how emotionally lost she felt after the experience: “Instead of feeling like I’d crossed some sacred threshold into true womanhood, I felt like I’d just slammed the door on ever being a little girl again. I was 18—an adult by legal standards—and yet there was still a little girl inside of me who wasn’t quite ready to let go of who she was. I felt as if I’d given away a part of me that I could never get back. I think I assumed too much. I thought that since my partner loved me a great deal and we’d given the event so much forethought, I would be left with a rosy “afterglow” instead of the emptiness I felt…According to Ama, Hollywood’s portrayal of premarital sex is “The Big Lie!”
It is for this reason that people (especially TEENAGERS) should carefully think about the consequences of having sex well before they actually do it. Sexual intercourse is the most INTIMATE thing that two people can do, and when having sex, it is said that two bodies become one. Sex can cause strong feelings for both people; and females will most likely feel this strongest. A female teen should carefully think about the possibility of having sex, because once she does, it cannot be ERASED. If her partner is not MATURE enough to handle the emotions that will occur, she may find she will dearly regret her decision! Sex can lead a person to think and feel that they are in love, or it can make the feelings of love stronger; a person should be sure a relationship is lasting before having sex!
A person (especially teenagers) should be sure that they can handle the emotions of sex and the responsibilities of sex before they have intercourse. Sex can be a wonderful thing; but there is no rush. Sex always has SOME consequences. For instance, when Adolf Hitler's mother spread her legs that night, she effectively canceled out the spreading of fifteen to twenty million other pairs of legs!!! One thing I've learned over the years is that, when you make love when you really don't feel it; there's probably nothing worse you can do to yourself than that!

I AM MY OWN GRANDPA

Many, many years ago
When I was twenty-three,
I got married to a widow
Who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a daughter
Who had red hair
My father fell in love with her,
And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my life.
My daughter was my mother,
For she was my father's wife.

To make matters worse,
Although it brought me joy,
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became
A brother-in-law to my dad.
And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter
Who, of course was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son,
And he became my grandson,
For he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mom.
And it surely makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife,
She is my grandma too.

If my wife is my grandmother,
Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it,
It simply drives me wild.

For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother,
I AM MY OWN GRANDPA
