2014 WASSCE BEGINS

This year’s May/June West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) begins today.
In all, over 360 candidates from both OLD SITE (Cape Coast Campus) & NEW SITE (Yamoransa Campus), are expected to write the examination at the school's YAMORANSA CAMPUS Assembly Hall.
Indeed, this is the first time such an exam is being written at the School's Yamoransa Campus. The change in venue from OLD SITE to NEW SITE has become necessary because of the sheer size of the new ultra modern Assembly Hall of the school's Yamoransa Campus. However, the WASSCE NOV/DEC exams for PRIVATE CANDIDATES will continue to be written at the OLD SITE (Cape Coast Campus) Assembly Hall.

SUBJECTS
The candidates will begin the examination with English Language (Oral) tomorrow and follow up on Wednesday with the Integrated Science One and Two papers, as well as Integrated Science Practicals.
Practicals in some subjects such as GKA, Foods & Nutrition etc. have already been written in the weeks prior to the main exams which begins today.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE

There are few jobs more courageous than becoming a TEACHER. Not only are the hours long and the PAY not that GREAT, but teachers also have to come up with their own inspiring lesson plans, schedules, and homework. This is all before even entering the classroom, and as any veteran teacher will tell you, it’s best to expect the unexpected in that area. Teachers encounter bullying, disrespect, INSULTS, frustration, joy, love, and triumph during their career. It’s a job for which no college/UNIVERSITY class can fully prepare anyone. BUT THE JOY OF EVERY TEACHER IS TO SEE HIS/HER STUDENTS PASS EXAMS OR BECOME SUCCESSFUL. However, teachers can only UNLOCK the doors to academic success for their students, it behooves on students to walk through that door all by themselves...Teachers are responsible for what they teach, but the responsibility of success lies entirely on individual students. Formal education can make you a LIVING but SELF EDUCATION can make you a FORTUNE.

Indeed, every great dream begins with a dreamer and each of us has within us the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. But in all human affairs there are EFFORTS, and there are RESULTS, and only the STRENGTH of the EFFORT determines the greatness of the RESULTs. Matter of fact, it is only in the dictionary that SUCCESS comes before WORK! That means in real life, it is only by dint of HARDWORK and DETERMINATION which lead to success. The sky has never been the limit. We are our own limits. It’s then about breaking our personal limits and inhibitions and outgrowing ourselves to live our best lives. You are capable and worthy of being and doing anything. You just need the DISCIPLINE and DETERMINATION to see it through. It won't come instantly, and you may FAIL from time to time, but don't let that deter you. NEVER GIVE UP. Life is an ever-changing process, and nothing is FINAL. Therefore, each moment and every new day is a chance to begin anew. Your 'PAST' is not your PASS to FAIL. So don't allow what happened to you minutes ago, days ago, weeks ago, months ago or years ago be the reason for you not to strive toward success for your life. Stop looking for reasons to FAIL or finding EXCUSES for your LACKING and SLACKING.

As students, you need to understand that LEARNING is like driving up a hill, if u remove your foot off the accelerator, you'll drop back into a ditch!  A day spent without LEARNING something is a day wasted and the one who GRADUATES today and stops learning tomorrow is UNEDUCATED the day after! So STUDY while others are sleeping; WORK while others are loafing; PREPARE while others are playing; and DREAM while others are wishing. Wise people learn when they can; fools learn ONLY when they must. BE WISE and Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Your past is past, your present is present and your future is all in your hands! And always remember that the FEAR OF GOD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM! WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR! ***by SIR GILLY***
