2012 SAMMOFEST/HOMECOMING

Our second annual SAMMO FESTIVAL/HOMECOMING (SAMMOFEST) is scheduled to begin on 16th Nov and end on 18th Nov 2012.
Top-rated sensational Ghanaian singer and rap artist GURU (known in real life as NANA YAW ADJEI YEBOAH MARADONA) and other chart topping Gh entertainers are set to headline this year’s event on Saturday 17th Nov, at the SAMMO NEW SITE Assembly Hall.
SAMMOFEST is an educational-entertainment (EduTainment) event organized and hosted by Sammo Senior High School, Cape Coast (Yamoransa Campus). The 3 day event features a lot of educational as well as entertainment events which receive massive patronage from SAMMO students, old students and other senior high school students across the length and breadth of Ghana.
Made possible by the school’s administration and the SAMMO ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE (EnterCom), this year’s SAMMOFEST is set to be the biggest and “dopest” high school entertainment programme in the Central Region of Ghana. The 17th Nov event will be the Sammo EnterCom’s 2nd SAMMOFEST event, having successfully staged the inaugural SAMMOFEST around the same time last year, which saw chat topping acts YAA PONO, KILLMATIC, LIL SHAKER among a host of other local artistes, perform to positive responses from thousands of SAMMORIANS and other high school students. This year’s SAMMOFEST will be headlined by GURU and hosted by Jay Foli & Louisa.
Currently one of the hottest acts in Ghana, GURU’s current single “lapaz toyota” is receiving heavy endorsements across the music industry in Ghana and beyond. At the Ghana Music Awards 2011, he was nominated for ‘Best Rapper of the year’ and ‘Hip Life song of the year’ for his maiden album DEMOCRACY. And the Sammo stage will be the 1st Senior high school stage he rocks after the release of his current hit single ‘Lapaz Toyota.’
“the assembly hall will definitely come alive on the 17th,” Opana has said.
